I was really inspired by a piece Keiko Lynn did back in May about body image. She really looked into the issue including how it has affected her throughout her life…such an amazing girl!
So I wanted to write a similar piece as I think it is a very important issue. I know I need to lose a few killos (I have gained about 10 kilos since Jan 2010!) but I am ok with that. It is no longer the most important aspect of my life. But maybe that’s what happens when you get older. I remember when I was 15 and body image was everything to me.
I would happily eat my 500 calories per day and wish every minute that I could look like those beautiful girls in the magazines (and some of the girls at school!)
I really wish someone could have explained to me 10 years ago now that I am perfectly ok how I am. I suppose being a teenager then I wouldn’t have listened to them anyway.
But the main reason for this post is that I know I have some 14 and 15 year old readers who probably constantly feel the pressure to look like their favourite movie stars or like the pretty popular girl at school. I just want you to know that you are perfect how you are and the most important thing in life is to just be you!
So as a shout out I want you to leave me a comment stating what is your best asset and why!
