A Vintage Style to Love

mea1mec1                mee1    meb1med1

Wearing: Vintage style cream a line dress from Big W; Bright red cardi/shrug from Valleygirl; Brown tights from eBay; Brown Camper Mary Janes from ReVamp Brisbane

I totally love this dress it is so lovely and comfortable and perfect for any season. It is getting warmer so I only had to wear tights a light jacket to work this morning. It is nice to wake up to the sunlight again rather than leaving in the dark and getting home in the dark. Definitely two things I hate about winter.

I have had this dress for ages and have worn it numerous time but never on my blog so this is its debut and I think it made a pretty good impression Smile What do you think??

My hair went crazy messy that’s the problem with taking photos after work rather than before. I always look perfect in the mornings and pretty dishevelled by the afternoon with a lot less makeup, crazy hair and crumpled clothes. Oh and the red bloodshot eyes! Thankfully you can’t see them in the photos! That’s what happens when you have a job stuck in front of a computer all day in fluorescent lighting – pretty nasty stuff.

Off to my first uni tutorial tomorrow wish me luck!!

Black White and Floral a Classic Mix

c6       c1 c3 c4c5c7

Black straight leg jeans from Target; Shoes from Target; White shirt from Target; Floral Blazer from Dotti

I have been wanting to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe lately but always come back to classic staples such as that long white t-shirt that goes with everything and classic slimming black straight leg jeans. As we had a super long 4 hour meeting at work today I decided to go semi-causal but still wanted to look stylish at the same time.

I threw into the mix a multi-coloured beaded necklace to add some interest to the simple look and some cute beige flats with little faux leather flowers all over them.

I pretty much feel almost 100% better now which is nice. SO many people are sick right now though it is crazy especially on the trains when  people don’t cover their mouths! (YUCK)

I think it is due to the weather it is starting to warm up but every other day it will randomly start raining or storming which doesn’t help the flu situation.

Oh and this is just how bogan my area is- someone stole my umbrella of my mum’s porch! Crazy world isn’t it??

Friend Friday: A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

Thought this would be an interesting post for Friend Friday this week. I know its not Friday but I was sick lol.

Feeling heaps better today though- no more temperature or runny nose! Back to work tomorrow :)

1. Fess up – if you could do anything professionally what would it be?

I would love to work from home possibly freelance journalism, photography or design. It would be totally awesome to lounge around in my pj’s all day with my cat Bella and work whenever I want to. Catching the train every day to work is one of my least favourite things so this would be fabulous!

2. What draws you to this?

My lazy side lol. Plus I would be doing something I love and getting paid for it. Who doesn’t want that?

3. When did you first start dreaming about this ideal?

Forever. I think about it almost everyday, every time I read a news story and pick up mistakes and I think “I can do better than that!” Also every time I take an amazing photograph that really captures a moment in time that you can never get back.

4. What’s holding you back from going all in?

Money and part of me likes going to work. Need some sort of a social life!

Also possibly lack of confidence as journalism is one the hardest industries to get a job in these days.

5. Sometimes the first step is the hardest… what’s one step you can take now on the way to realizing your dream?

Finishing uni asap and continuing to do work experience in journalism. My blog also helps with my writing and social media skills which is pretty useful.

Sponsor Spotlight: Ravenous Creatures

Ravenous Creatures is a relatively new online vintage clothing store. I am happy for them to be a sponsor of my blog as they have so many items that I would buy for myself.
As a lover of vintage fashion and upcycling enthusiast I am always so happy to find new online shops that stock lovely vintage wear for affordable prices.
Although it was incredibly difficult I did manage to narrow down my favourite items to the ones below. Let me know what you think and be sure to visit the store

Stuck at home with the flu

me1me2    me3me4  me7me5me6

Striped Breton top from Fischer Clothing; Black floral maxi skirt from Valleygirl; Black flats Big W; Tan Fossil Bag from Fossil

Took these photos this morning after a quick trip to the shops to get some food. I have come down with the flu and right at the end of Winter so annoying! Right now I am burning up so bad I swear I could cook an egg on my forehead right now!

There will probably be less posts this week depending on how I feel. I was sent home from work yesterday as I had a high temp then too.

Just a short post sorry really not well and just spent 2 hours making those social networking buttons on my sidebar! Also do you like my new layout? The 3 column was a bit hard to read I thought.

Etsy Shop Updates and My Mum’s Vintage Linen Shop

Here are all the latest products at my shop! All handmade by me except the red vintage platform wedges of course! I got these off etsy just recently and was so sad as they are too narrow for me! Whoever buys them will be the luckiest girl in the world they are so unique and would make even a simple outfit look fabulous!

Do you like my nails in the ring shot? I painted them hot pink and then put little black dots all over. I was pretty happy with the outcome and have received some nice compliments. I am going to attempt an ombre look next but I have shaky hands so not sure if I can pull that off without assistance!

I am really getting into Steampunk right now and the earrings in the middle are my first lot of steampunk jewellery. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I am wanting to really focus more on upcycling old products and making them into something new and wearable. Definitely becoming a new passion for me.

Also check out my mum’s shop too she sells vintage linen like doilies and table runners as well as some handmade flowers and vintage jewellery. Here are some of her items below.

I really like the pink ballerina flowers they are beautiful! Also check out my mum’s blog here
