Yesterday was a shocker of a day. I had run out of money (as usual it sucks working part time!) and almost couldn’t get home.
I have faced many embarrassing money issues in my life some of the worst ones is when you are at the checkout paying for like $8 worth of groceries on credit card only to be told it is declined. Then you just pretend that there must be some mistake and excuse yourself, telling the checkout operator that you will go and check your bank account and come back. Of course you already know your card must be maxed out so you quickly get out of there as soon as possible.
Yesterday was a new all time low though. My go-card had run out of money so I couldn’t get into the train station so the guard had to physically let me in. I then realised I had no enough money to top up my go-card so had to run upstairs and then line-up for a super expensive paper ticket that cost $3.90 for a student! I only had just enough to cover this so quickly paid and somehow made my train. All in all very frustrating and annoying.
Anyone else had any embarrassing situations like this?
I think it is just me and money it is truly and love/hate relationship – hence why I prefer thrifting- so much cheaper.
