Guest Post: Mackenzie from Reasons to Celebrate

Hello, My Modern Vintage readers! Mackenzie here from the blog Reasons to Celebrate. I'm so excited to be guest posting here on Ilana's blog because it's so cute, fun, and inspiring!
I'm sharing an outfit I wore the other day when it was gorgeous out. It was a perfect afternoon to just relax and hang out in the park for awhile. The leaves are finally turning pretty colors here in Washington DC and it's so beautiful!

I made this dress with some crushed velvet and vintage fabric for the bib and sleeves. This dress is so comfortable and I love the shine of the crushed fabric.
My favorite hobby is designing and sewing dresses. I try my best to use vintage fabrics when designing too. I've had this fabric sitting in my fabric box for over a year just waiting for inspiration to strike, and I finally decided to make a fun fall dress for myself!
Many of my dresses end up on my Etsy Shop or in the boutique I sell my designs in, but every once in a while, I'll design something just for myself!

Hope you enjoyed my post! Make sure to stop by my blog, Reasons to Celebrate, and say hi!
Take care!

  1. OMG I love it!!!! I am crushing so hard on velvet right now (haha crushing velvet...oh I love a good pun). I just bought some velvet to make a skirt! Well, it's some sort of low end knock off velvet cause I'm cheap, but still... Is it hard to work with? My sewing skills are novice so I'm a bit intimidated!
