Just a collection of some of my favourite outfits for July 2013. I cannot believe how fast this month has gone by and that it will soon be stinking hot again! Time to say goodbye to my boots and cardigans for another year!
I recently interviewed the lovely Kate who writes the blog Clear the Way. Kate has been an avid reader of my blog for a while now and she was so much fun to interview! Be sure to visit and follow her lovely blog!
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a way to channel the time I spent online and make it more productive. I loved browsing shops and spent a lot of time doing it, but it only resulted in me making purchases I didn't need to make or simply wasting time. I'm so glad I started Clear the Way because it's grown into a real passion. Now the time I spend online is useful, productive, and helps me learn more about myself in order to share myself with others.
What styles/trends do you like at the moment?
I love a good shift dress which is very apparent on Clear the Way as I feature them quite often. The styles and trends that I gravitate toward are always the vintage or vintage-inspired ones. I love the 20s, 50s, 60s (mod, not hippie), and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the puffy-sleeved and puffy-haired 80s.
What is your favourite piece in your wardrobe and why do you love it?
Right now I'm falling in love with my grey mary-janes all over again. I purchased them awhile ago but every time I add a new dress into my "favorites section" of my wardrobe, my trusty mary-janes rise to the calling, complete the look, and remind me why they are my favorite.
Who/what influences your personal style?
Something no-one knows about you?
I don't know that I've ever shared this on my blog, but I have gauged(/stretched) ears. They are a size 0 and I usually wear wood, clear glass, or turquoise stone plugs. I think they are a little different but still tasteful and I can still hang a hook earring from them if I need to. I also have a second piercing so I can wear small studs. Also, as a bonus: I used to have white hair.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love going on long hikes and bike rides. I love being outdoors, no matter what I'm doing, and California is really beautiful. I also enjoy reading about the things I'm most passionate about (like women's rights) or classic literature. I like practicing yoga and cooking delicious Vegan and gluten-free food as well.
Make sure you visit Kate’s blog here!
So I did it I got my hair all cut off into a pixie cut. I was really inspired by Michelle Williams cute hair style (see my Instyle Makeover pic above). It is going to take a bit of getting used to as it is so short! Playing up the feminine side is a must now. More pixie cut posts to come!

Hi Friends. I hope your week is going well so far. I am back at uni now…sigh…so very busy. It is so hard to maintain a good blogging schedule when life is so full with work and other commitments!
Anyway onto this look, I was going for a Spencer Hastings inspired outfit but probably would have needed some knee-high socks to pull it off completely. Preppy is not really me but was fun to try!

Ok so maybe the title of this post is misleading. It has actually been pretty cloudy and even rainy on and off for the past week. This means that it is also warmer too which is good and bad. Where I live, we rarely get cold weather so I do want to enjoy and little bit while I can. Not too long until the boots and cardigans will need to be put away for another year!
Who here loves Sex and the City? I was a huge fan before I even understood the premise of the show. I think I was about 12 when it started and remember my mum watching it at night and sometimes staying up to watch it with her.
Anyway I was always in love with Carrie’s name necklace and was over the moon when I was contacted by One Necklace to review one of their beautiful sterling silver name necklaces. I ended up getting this one here.
I must say I love it! It arrived really fast and it is lovely. Perfect length and the necklace is really delicate which I love.
So if you are looking for an affordable gift for a friend or for yourself check out the name necklaces!
Hi Friends. So last week I decided I wanted to get rid of the red hair for a few reasons:
1) It is too much to maintain. I was spending heaps and dying my hair every weekend plus a red toner in the middle of the week.
2) Not washing my hair more than twice a week was grossing me out. Now that the weather has decided to become warmer washing hair twice a week is no longer an option.
3) I was bored of it. Red hair is totally awesome I recommend giving it a go. Bear in mind that is clashes with many colours so there are many things you cannot wear.
I thought buying some bleach would remove it. I tried this (see image 1) and as you can see it went a nice mix of multi-coloured orange mess. Kind of cool if that’s the look you are going for but I wasn’t.
So off to the hairdressers for me and 4 hours, 2 lots of colour removal, a hair colour, toner, trim and $204 later I ended up with what would you call this a light ash brown/dark blonde? It looks darker in the pics.
So I have decided to wait a week to give my poor scalp a rest and will dye it again next weekend. I am hoping to get the base blonder and then get foils over the top. Such a mission!

Hi Friends. Such a busy weekend! My brother moved out of home this weekend as is now waiting to actually live in his new place as the electricity is not on. He officially moves in tomorrow once it is put on. I sometimes feel like there is never enough time to do the things we need to do on the weekends!
Also just as an FYI my new current obsession is boyfriends jeans so you will probably see many related posts over the next few weeks!
